Brothers and Sisters,

Management gave a stand-up service talk yesterday 2/20/2024. If you did not receive this talk, then you should familiarize yourself with it. The Service talk is posted on the union board for all to read.

What does this mean to YOU?

Right now, management wants to remove some of the mail processing operations out of this facility and into the Rhode Island facility. If they are successful, it will reduce the amount of equipment we currently have. It will also reduce the number of employees needed to process the remaining mail volumes. Please understand, this is just the beginning. They will take a little here and there, then they will come for more and then more, until this building is just an empty shell. Make no mistake, this will affect everyone, one way or another.

Our National Agreement has clear language on what must take place when an excessing event happens, or if management wants to reduce the number of occupied duty assignments within a facility. It also has clear language regarding possible layoffs.

There will be a Public Meeting held on Wednesday, March 6, 2024, at 2:00 PM at the Brockton Main Library, Multipurpose Room, 304 Main St, Brockton MA 02301. Members need to get involved. Get as many people to show up and voice their opposition to this action.

If you have just crawled out from under a rock, and you have never heard about our Postmaster General Louis DeJoy 10-year plan to Modernize the Postal Service. Wake-up, this is real and its moving fast. The 10-year plan has been in the news for quite some time.  Some of these changes have negatively affected employees, facilities and, of course, our customers nationwide. It is now on our doorstep.

If my message seems a little harsh or the words are too direct, I will not apologize. You need to hear the truth and stop listing to people telling you that this building will never close. It's here, its real and It's going to get really scary.

Management stood up in front of you and read from a script. This script is just a format letter that was given to over 30 offices in the past month. This so-called study, management claimed they performed is a bunch of crap. The local union has already started the grievance process, because management can’t even provide one document to show that this study was even performed.

When I get the information, I will make sure it is shared with everyone. At this time, we are left in the dark wondering how many employees will be impacted and what operations will be removed.
